This altbier really is magic: it is a top-fermented lagered beer, not quite a lager not quite an ale! It’s an exciting one: bitter yet malty, clean yet floral. We’ve selected this German ale yeast to amplify the gentle floral tones of the Cascade and Bravo hops, which balance perfectly with the citrus notes of Columbus. Expect a smooth finish, amber to copper colour and a decent head. Wizard, you shall indeed pass!
Old Wizard facts: “Alt” in the German word “altbier” refers to the “old” brewing method of using top-fermenting yeast before bottom-fermenting lagers became popular.
